【摘要】:Thetestmethodiseffectiveforthefollowingtestobjectives:Todeterminewhetheraperceivabledifferenceresultsoraperceivabledifferencedoesnotresult,forexample,whenachangeismadeiningredients,processing,packaging,handlingorstorage;orToselect,trainandmonitorassessors.Thetestmethoditselfdoesnotchangewhetherthepurposeoftheduo-triotestistodeterminethattwoproductsareperceivablydifferentversusthattheproductsarenotperceivablydifferent.Onlytheselectedvaluesofpd,x03B1;,andx03B2;change.Iftheobjectiveofthetestistodetermineifthereisaperceivabledifferencebetweentwoproducts,thenthevalueselectedforx03B1;istypicallysmallerthanthevalueselectedforx03B2;.Iftheobjectiveistodetermineifthetwoproductsaresufficientlysimilartobeusedinterchangeably,thenthevalueselectedforx03B2;istypicallysmallerthanthevalueselectedforx03B1;andthevalueofpdisselectedtodexFB01;nex201C;sufficientlysimilar.x201D;Thetestmethodmaychangebasedonthetestobjectiveortheassessorsx2019;familiaritywiththeproduct.Thebalanced-referencetechnique(see9.1.1)typicallyisusedwhenneitherproductismorefamiliarthantheother.Theconstant-referencetechnique(see9.1.2)frequentlyisusedwhenoneproductisacontrol/currentproductorisfamiliartotheassessors.1.1Thistestmethodcoversaprocedurefordeterminingwhetheraperceptiblesensorydifferenceexistsbetweensamplesoftwoproducts.1.2Thistestmethodapplieswhetheradifferencemayexistinasinglesensoryattributeorinseveral.1.3Thistestmethodisapplicablewhenthenatureofthedifferencebetweenthesamplesisunknown.Itdoesnotdeterminethesizeorthedirectionofthedifference.Theattribute(s)responsibleforthedifferencearenotidentified.1.4Comparedtothetriangletest,theduo-triotestisstatisticallylessefficient,buteasiertoperformbytheassessors.Fordetailsonhowtheduo-triotestcomparestootherthree-sampletests,seeRefs(1-4).1.5Thistestmethodisapplicableonlyiftheproductsarehomogeneous.Iftwosamplesofthesameproductcanoftenbedistinguished,thenanothermethod,forexample,descriptiveanalysis,maybemoreappropriate.1.6Thistestmethodisapplicableonlywhentheproductsdonotcauseexcessivesensoryfatigue,carryoveroradaptation.1.7Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
